Thermoset plastics materials are different from thermoplastics in several areas. Generally they stand for higher rigidity and strength plus better resistance against environmental forces. These materials come in a combination of resin and reinforcement – typically polyester and fiberglass. The surface may be applied with gel coat which provides a «painted» appearance. The surface shape determines glossiness. Biobe has 3 different thermoset production processes:

  • Hand Laminating
  • Vacuum Injection (RTM)
  • Hot Pressing (SMC)

The products are used for a variety of purposes from installations on the seabed to industrial facilities and antenna enclosure. Common to all is that they can withstand external stresses and retain the mechanical strength over a long period of time without being degraded.
